Serenade

beneath

the Stars

A brief story...

In Europe, a serenade is an instrumental composition or a song dedicated to the beloved.

Full of longing, this music is sung during the night beneath the window of the one who is being adored and worshipped.

It may also be a tribute to a teacher, to a friend whom one wishes to honor, to a hero or even to a saint (most commonly Virgin Mary).

The star, on the other hand, symbolizes eternity and the union of the male and female principles of the universe (known as Prakriti and Purusha, or Shakti and Shiva, in Hindu tradition).

The starry vault illustrates the angelic beauty of creation and its immensity.

SÉRÉNADE AUX ÉTOILES (Serenade beneath the stars) pays tribute to the diversity of cultures and traditions on earth as well as to this ancestral custom of men and women gathering at night, wherever they may be, to share music and poetry. Together, under the stars, they transmit songs and stories from generation to generation. This knowledge, passed through oral transmission, has deep roots and is constantly renewed, being enriched by each encounter and by the fullness of the events of life.

This is why we choose  the name Serenade beneath the Stars for our association...
