➡️ What this retreat will entail
✦ Maa Parvathy Baul will be conducting this retreat as the only teacher.
We will learn to sing Baul songs and delve into the deeper yogic meaning of the songs, which contain the spiritual wisdom. We will practise Baul movement and dance, which is a moving pranayama.
✦ Being in the nearness (sannidhyam) and daily routine of a Master is a chance to get an orientation on the spiritual lifestyle - which is very different. It will give an opportunity to start thinking of an alternative way of looking at life.

✦ Sannidhyam is for those who already have faith in spirituality, in guru and would like to bring guru yoga into their lives.
✦ It is not for those who would just like to come for singing and dancing or trying to do something different that weekend.

About the immersion
✦ Guided by Maa Parvathy Baul, we will spend time chanting and in satsang.
✦ There will be space for an interactive session with questions and answers focused on spirituality and the spiritual path of the Bauls.
✦ We will learn to sing a Baul song - which contains the spiritual wisdom - and delve into its deeper yogic meaning.
✦ Being in the nearness of a Master is a chance to get an orientation on the spiritual lifestyle - which is very different. It will give an opportunity to start thinking of an alternative way of looking at life.
✦ In the evening, there will be a satsang-performance by Maa Parvathy Baul.

➡️ What this festival is about
✦ This festival brings together classical music, dance, and ritual in a vibrant journey of discovery throughout the entire building. Maa Parvathy Baul presents the mystical Baul tradition from West Bengal, followed by an exceptional and rare ensemble featuring sarangi (literally “a hundred colors”), shehnai, and tabla. The evening concludes with the virtuosic duo Mysore Brothers, leading figures of the Carnatic violin tradition, accompanied by mridangam and ghatam.
✦ In the lead-up to the evening concert, you can take part in a yoga session, enjoy classical Indian dance, and explore Indian classical music through a lecture-demonstration. The foyer will host an informal festival atmosphere with Indian street food, instrument demonstrations, literature, and various stands. A festival to listen, to taste, and to be carried away by a living musical culture.

About this event
✦ At Eigenzeit, Maa Parvathy Baul will engage in a transcultural musical dialogue with members of the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra.
✦ Before the performance, she will offer an introduction to the fascinating philosophy and profoundly spiritual practice of the Baul tradition.
