Woodcut print, engraved in 2005, 76,4 x 54cm Bamakhepa, a revered Shakta Siddha from Bengal, spent his life worshipping Smashan Tara at Tarapith's sacred cremation grounds. Known as "Khepa," or 'Mad one,' his life story evokes deep devotion. Contemporary of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, he is regarded as the Bhairava of Tarapith. The woodcut shows Bamakhepa with cremation fires and dogs in the funeral grounds, with the historic Tarapith temple embodying the pervasive energy of the Goddess.

Amongst all forms of devotion, that which is embodied by the Gopis is considered the most pristine. It is a state of total surrender and an attitude of complete reliance on Sri Krishna.
